Spurlin called her new breed the “Klee Kai” at first, but in 1995 it was changed to Alaskan Klee Kai.
This breed is known to be a miniature version of an Alaskan Husky and was bred as such.
Alaskan Klee Kais are intelligent, energetic, and active little dogs that love to be working just as much as their larger predecessors.
Although Alaskan Klee Kais are not sledding dogs, they can do other things as long as they are taught early.
They succeed well in obedience training and should be socialized early to avoid problems with suspicion of strangers.
